Cadwallader, Michener, 1798-1864.
Grandson of Col. Thomas Proctor, a native of Ireland who commanded the Pennsylvania artillery during the Revolutionary War, and John Cadwallader, Baltimore attorney; son of John Cadwallader II and Catharine Proctor of Huntingdon, Pa. Moved to Lockport, N.Y. in 1828 and started the Niagara courier as an anti-Masonic newspaper. He also co-published the Daily Buffalo journal, and served as Buffalo city clerk and comptroller.
