Richard Harrison Jackson was born May 10, 1866, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. He served during the served during the Spanish-American War in 1898, and later served as Assistant Chief of Naval Operations in 1923. After his promotion to the rank of admiral, he was appointed as Commander-in-Chief of the Battle Fleet in 1926. Jackson died on October 3, 1971.
