Isely, Henry, 1841-1904.

Henry Isely grew up near Winesberg, Ohio, and served with Company C of the 67th Ohio Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Following the war he taught school in St. Joseph, Mo., before settling in Brown County, Kan., as a farmer in 1867. Henry Isely was elected township clerk of Walnut Township in 1872 and county clerk of Brown County in 1873. He represented Brown County in the State Legislature from 1881 to 1883 and later became president of the Fairview State Bank.
