Bigelow Manufacturing Company, a machine shop, was founded by Hobart B. Bigelow and George Starr Barnum; in 1875 it was reorganized as H.B. Bigelow & Co., and in 1883 renamed Bigelow Company; chiefly known for the manufacturing of boilers.
