Resident of Pine Point, Me.; b. Ira Joseph Snow; garage and airplane mechanic; worked at Scarborough, Me., airport and then as mechanic at Hazard Shoe Company hangar owned by Capt. Harry M. Jones at Old Orchard Beach, Me.; in late 1920s built his own plane which eventually ended up at Owls Head Transportation Museum; in 1932 had flying accident and lost a wing to the plane he was flying and crashed into the ocean just off Old Orchard Beach; in 1936 opened Joe Snow's Garage near Scarborough Marsh and later worked for his uncle as a mechanic.
