The company was formed from consolidation of Maysville and Big Sandy Rail Road Company, Lexington and Big Sandy Railway Company and the Covington Short Route and Transfer Railway Company. Conveyed by deeds to the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company, 1907 and 1911.
1904-1906 operated by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company. On May 19, 1906 consolidated with Kinniconnick and Freestone Railroad Company and Big Sandy Railway Company. June 27, 1907 conveyed 18,000 acres of mineral lands in Pike County, KY to Chesapeake Mineral Company. July 1, 1907 conveyed all railroad property, rights, etc., to the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company with the exception of 18,000 acres of mineral lands. On July 5, 1911 Deed between the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company of Kentucky, the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, Centeral Trust Company of New York and Henry Wickham, and United States Mortgage and Trust Company and William H. White, confirmed 1907 conveyance and conveyed all rights, titles, etc. not acquired by the 1907 Deed.
