Leonard G. Freeman was born in 1836. He enlisted from Maxfield, Maine in Company D, 14th Maine Volunteers on 11 Dec. 1861. He served in that regiment throughout the Civil War. In 1868, he was an agent for the "Electric Health Restoring Company". In 1874, he worked for the Grand Trunk Railway of Canada. He is listed in the Bangor city directories as a laborer. He died in Bangor on May 18, 1922.
