Azariah Graves Thompson (1885-1963) was born June 16, 1885, in Leasburg, North Carolina. He attended the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University) from 1905 to 1909. He married Lula Belle Stephens (1890-1977) in 1914. They had three daughters and four sons.
