Cowherd, Francis, 1753-1833

Francis Cowherd was a lieutenant in the Second Virginia Regiment during the revolutionary war. He later became a major in the militia, county coroner, and state tax collector in Orange County, Virginia.
James Madison (b. 1723) married Nelly Conway on 15 September 1749. They were the parents of President James Madison.
