Louis E. Endicott was born in 1869 to George and Martha Endicott near Villa Ridge, Pulaski County, in southern Illinois. His father was a fruit farmer, and Louis Endicott followed him in this profession. He married Martha, "Mattie," Redden, daughter of Margaret Castle and Louis Redden, in 1899. Relatives in the Castle, Smith, and Redden families also lived the area, in the towns of Greenville and Stubblefiled. Most were also farmers. The Endicotts had one daughter, Margaret, in 1906. Louis Endicott, who took up dairy farming later in life, was killed by one of his cows in 1939. His wife Martha died in 1963.
