Evelyn Ruth Buckley was born on June 1, 1910 to Gus B. and Evelyn Ruth Buckley of Fort Worth. Her father was a claims clerk for the Fort Worth and Denver City Railroad at the time of her birth. By the time Evelyn graduated from high school, her father was deputy clerk of the United States District Court. He was later the chief deputy unitl his death around 1942. The family lived in several locations in Fort Worth: 915 Travis (1910), 2138 South Jennings (1929), 3113 Benbrook Blvd. (1932) and 3208 Waits Avenue (1943). After her father's death, Evelyn became a deputy clerk at the District Court. She continued to live on Waits Avenue with her mother and older sister Mamie Louise, who was a teacher and later a bookkeeper for E. T. Renfro and a typist for Producers Supply and Tool Company. Neither daughter married. They resided at 3208 Waits Avenue until 1946, at 114 Coventry until 1952, and then at 2617 Benbrook Blvd. Eveyln continued to work as deputy clerk until her retirement around 1974. Her mother passed away about the same time. She lived on Benbrook Blvd. until her death on July 8, 1985.
