Prince, Helen Wright, 1911-
Variant namesTeacher. Helen Wright Prince taught from 1949-1960 in the only public school established in a labor camp in New York State. The camp was established in the late 1940s to provide farm labor during the harvest season. The laborers were primarily African Americans from the southern United States. Because of increased mechanization in the 1960s, most camps in the state closed.
