Mickelson, Omer H., 1926-2006

Mickelson (1926-2006) served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946.

Discharged at the rank of Boson Mate Second Class, he worked for a few years as a meat cutter at Pleck's Ice Cream and Dairy, and he operated Mickelson's Texaco for twenty-eight years. He served on the Board of Education for Sturgeon Bay High School for nine years, the city council for thirty years, and as Red Cross chairman for Door County, and he was an active member of AMVETS and the Kiwanis Club.
