Spinks, Sam, 1921-
Dr. Sam Spinks was raised in Henleyfield, Mississippi. He earned two degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1949 and 1951 and his Ph. D. from the University of Florida in 1962. For thirty-five years, he worked in public schools in Mississippi. He retired in 1985 as the superintendent of Hattiesburg Public Schools.
