Everette, Oliver, 1912-1971
Oliver Page Everette (1912-1971) was a published poet who studied with poets Theodore Rothke and John Berryman at the University of Washington. He served as parish pastor for Lutheran churches in North Dakota, Montana, Illinois, Washington, and Alaska. He was a professor of English at the University of Alaska from 1966 until his death. He served as Poet Laureate of Alaska in 1965-1967.
