Missionary linguist; born August 21, 1930, to missionary parents in Shansi, China; graduated from Wheaton College (1951) and received a B.D. and M.A. from Columbia Bible College (ca. 1953); worked as a linguist with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the Philippines (1953-1957), Vietnam (1957-1975), and Thailand (ca. 1978- ); developed written form of Chrau language and prepared literacy, education and Bible study materials; helped organize a Chrau Bible School; married Dorothy Fowler, 1956.
