Although Bing Crosby studied law at Gonzaga University in Spokane, he was more interested in playing the drums and singing with a local band. Leaving Spokane for Los Angeles in 1925 he was discovered in the early 1930s and began performing on live radio in 1932. His radio success led Paramount Pictures to include him in Big Broadcast of 1932 and his film career as a leading man, singer and dancer, ran until the mid 1960s. An avid golfer, he founded the first celebrity golf tournament and died on the golf course after playing 18 holes.
