Charles S. Mahan, M.D., is Dean and Professor Emeritus in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida and the Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies. After receiving his MD degree from Northwestern University and working for the University of Florida, the North Central Florida Maternal and Infant Care Program, and the State Health Department of Florida, Mahan came to the University of South Florida to serve as Dean of the College of Public Health from 1995 to 2002. While medicine was his vocation, animation became his avocation and this collection represents Dr. Mahan's lifetime passion for animation art and political cartoons.
