Melville, A. E.
Professor Giblin was a noted economist and mathematician. Amongst the achievement of his varied career, he was a Labor member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly, a Major in World War I, was Tasmanian Government Statistician, held professorial posts at Melbourne University and various economic advisory posts. His friend and protege Tony Melville, taught at Cambridge University.
