Louis Amedee Bringier, son of Michael Doradou Bringier and Louise Elizabeth Aglae Du Bourg, was a planter of Ascension Parish, Louisiana. He attended University of Virginia from 1845-1849, and in 1850 married his cousin Stella Tureaud. After serving in the Confederate Army as a colonel during the Civil War, he returned to Hermitage Plantation, and in the 1880's moved to Last Resort, Florida to operate a fruit farm.
