John T. Blois, was born in 1809 in Connecticut to Thompson and Rhoda Howe Blois. John came to Detroit in Dec. 1837. He published a gazetter of Michigan at Detroit and New York in 1838. One year he settled at Jonesville, where he practiced law and resided until his death on June 9, 1886. His widow, Rhoda Howe, married Stephen Johnson of Plymouth, Conn., who was John T. Blois' half-brother.
