Incorporated in January 1922 under the laws of the state of Washington, the company purposed to acquire and operate traction lines in the city and suburbs of Spokane, Washington, which at the time belonged to the Spokane and Eastern Railway and Power Company. The transfer took place in March, with the Spokane and Eastern acquiring the new company's full issue of capital stock ($1,500,000) in exchange for the traction lines. In March 1923, the properties were conveyed to the Washington Water Power Company, which also operated traction lines in Spokane. Together, the two properties became the Spokane United Railways. The Spokane and Eastern was reimbursed by way of stock in the new transportation company.
