Powell, George
Variant namesGeorge Powell was born circa 1796 in England. He joined Messrs Daniel Bennett and Sons and in 1818 made his first voyage south in command of Dove . During his third voyage he discovered the South Orkney Islands (1821). He went to work for Messrs Enderby in 1823.
