Created by Executive Order 10129 on June 3, 1950, to inquire into and report on the social, economic, health, and educational conditions among domestic and alien migratory workers, the problems created by their migration to the U.S., the responsibilities being assumed by federal, state, county, and municipal authorities concerning them, the need for foreign workers to supplement the domestic labor suppy, and the extent of and problems created by illegal migration of foreign workers to the U.S. and how enforcement measures might be strengthened and improved to eliminate such migration; terminated on May 31, 1951.
