Dr. Breeden is a Southern Illinois University alum, and and from 1991 to 2005 he was a tenured professor at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas where he taught creative writing and world literature classes. His published novels include A Poet's Guide to Divorce (2005), Aristas (2001), and Another Number (1998). He has also published several books of poetry including Ice Cream and Suicide (2005), Surviving the Coup (2003), Double Headed End Wrench (1992), and Hey, Schliemann (1990). His film scripts written include Off the Wall, which won the "Best of the Fest" award at the Great Lakes Independent Film Festival in 2003, House Whine, and Golgotha Hanger. His plays include Daddy Wasn't Right and Aunt Emma's Wake. He has written many short stories and poems published in magazines, newspapers, and compilation volumes. In 2005, Dr. Breeden began a new career as a student at the Meadville Lombard Theological School at the University of Chicago.
