Pittman, Alvy Ray, 1922-
Alvy Ray Pittman was born December 5, 1922, in Kokomo, Mississippi. He joined the Marine Corps in 1942 and fought on the Pacific islands of Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima. After the war, Pittman served in the Marine Reserves and National Guard and trained soldiers during the Korean War.
