Gibson Company (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Established in 1898 in Indianapolis by Cecil Gibson as a bicycle shop, it became an international distributor of auto parts. From 1911-1912 it was known as the Fisher-Gibson Company, then reverted to its original name. Its export subsidiary, the Atlas Manufacturing Co., Inc., sold automotive parts worldwide. Joseph M. Bloch served in various capacities in the business from 1912-1968; his son-in-law, J. William Julian, directed the company until it ceased operation in 1984.
