Minnesota. Transportation Study Board
Variant namesThe Transportation Study Board was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 1988 [Laws 1988 c603 s6] to research Minnesota's surface transportation needs for the 21st century and to recommend a program for making improvements to meet those needs. It consisted of thirteen citizen members and eight legislators. The Board hired an executive director, Tom L. Johnson, and conducted public hearings throughout the state. Peat Marwick, a certified public accounting firm, was hired to formulate a financial plan to fund the Board's recommendations. The Board's final report was published in December 1990 and it disbanded in early 1991.
