Augustana Lutheran Church (Portland, Or.)

Augustana first arose with the Ladies' Aid Society in northeast Portland. The group soon founded its own church in 1906, using a small chapel, until Christmas of 1907 when their own church building had been established. In 1950 a new church building was dedicated, and the Christian Education Center was completed in 1964. The congregation has been strong over the years, though shifting neighborhood demographics into suburbs have lessened its membership.
