Records of Augustus Julian Requier, who was attorney for the Confederate States of America (CSA), Southern District of Ala., 1861-1865. His last name appeared under the heading Statement of Case for every case filed. All of these cases are civil suits.

Requier was born 1825 May 27, at Charleston, S.C., and was admitted to the bar in S.C. in 1844. He moved to Mobile, Ala., in 1850, and in 1853 was named by Pres. James Buchanan as U.S. District Attorney for the southern district of Ala. During the Civil War he was an attorney for the CSA. After the war he moved to N.Y., N.Y., where he was a corporation lawyer of much ability. He wrote and published plays and poems as well. He died 1887 Mar. 19.
