Textile mill established in Birmingham, Alabama in 1897 by Braxton Bragg Comer (1848-1927). Since then additional mills, which produce cotton and synthetic yarns and fabrics, have been purchased throughout Alabama and other Southeastern states. The Comer family continues to control ownership of the mills, whose headquarters are now located in Sylacauga, Alabama.
