Octave Frederick Ursenbach was born 26 October 1870, son of Octave Ursenbach and Eliza Durrant. He was a local leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a high councilor; president of the French Mission, 1934-1939; and patriarch of the South Los Angeles Stake beginning in 1940. He is the author of "The Quest" and four other books. He was a resident of Morgan, Utah; Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, 1910-1923; and Los Angeles, California, beginning in 1923. He died 4 May 1951.
