Langdon, Charles Carter, 1805-1889.
Charles Carter Langdon was born in Conn. 1805 Aug. 5, and died in Mobile, Ala. 1889 June 8. He moved to Mobile in 1834, was mayor of Mobile 1849-1855 and a member of the Ala. Constitutional Conventions of 1865 and 1875. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Ala. governor in 1872 and 1878. Langdon was appointed Ala. Secretary of State 1885 and elected to the same office in 1886. He was a trustee of the Agricultural and Mechanical College at Auburn, Ala.
