Robert Krumm was born in Rome, N.Y. in 1920. He served with the Service Company, Headquarters, and Companies C and B of the 86th Infantry Regiment. Krumm received a Bronze Star Medal for his actions near San Benedetto and the Po River. He received a second Bronze Star Medal for his service in the Apennines and Po River Campaigns. Krumm was an enlisted man who achieved the rank of Captain.
