Hewson family.
John Hewson, his first wife, Mary, and their four oldest children emigrated from England to Philadelphia, Pa. in 1773 or 1774. Hewson set up shop as a calico printer in Kensington, Pa. after his arrival in America. Mary died shortly after the journey in 1774. Hewson remarried and he and his second wife, Zibiah, remained in the Kensington area until his death in 1821.
