Founder of Antioch Shakespeare Festival, "Shakespeare Under the Stars." Served as Director of Stan Hywet Hall in Akron, Ohio; McCarter Theater at Princeton University; Brattleboro Center for the Performing Arts in Brattleboro, Vermont; Alice People Theater in Tampa, Florida. Established Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival in Lakewood, Ohio. His son, John, has become a successful performer on stage and screen.
