Union Park Gardens Neighborhood Association.
Union Park Gardens, a neighborhood in southwest Wilmington, Del., was built in 1918-19 by the Liberty Land Company for the United States Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation to provide housing for workers in the expanded shipbuilding industry. It was designed as a model community by the architects Balleinger & Perrot and town planner John Nolen. The Neighborhood Association maintains the original quality of the community.
