Goldie van Bibber was born February 28, 1885 in Montrose, Colorado. In October 1896 the family moved to Mitchell, OR. When she was 18, she began teaching school. After attending the University of Oregon, she became School Supervisor on the Oregon Coast. Goldie van Bibber married Fred Putnam on November 16, 1916 and they lived in Monument, OR for several years. They moved to the Inchelium, WA area in 1922. They had one son, Carl Van Putnam that was born August 23, 1917. This was where they lived, worked and raised their son. Goldie Van Putnam passed away at her home on Dec. 4, 1965.
