Son of Hon. H. P. F. Basedow, M.L.C. Studied in Adelaide and Europe. Assistant Government Geologist, South Australia. Chief Protector of Aborigines and Chief Medical Officer of the Northern Territory. He took part in many expeditions, including the Leichhardt Search Party, Barcoo District, Q'ld., and expeditions to Central Australia 1926, 1928.
