Academic, writer, broadcaster and folklorist. June Factor was born in Poland in 1936. Factor has been involved with the Australian Children's Folklore Collection as director, and she was a member of the National Privacy Advisory Committee. Factor was also president of the Victorian and Australian Council for Civil Liberties. In the late 1960s and early 1970s she was involved in various school broadcasts. Factor's publications include many works for children, including children's folklore collections and picture books, and books on the culture of childhood. Factor is a contributor to Meanijin, Overland, and Southerly among other publications.
