Actress Carroll McComas, daughter of Alice Moore McComas, lecturer and journalist, began her career at the age of twelve as a singer, dancer, and whistler in vaudeville. For more than fifty years she appeared in numerous roles in the theater, television, and motion pictures, including Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac and Candida in Oh, Lady, Lady. She married Selskar Michael Gunn, a public health expert who became vice-president of the Rockefeller Foundation and as such implemented programs in France, Czechoslovakia, and China.
