Hoewischer, Roy W.

Roy William Hoewischer was born in Galconda, Illinois on November 21, 1891, the son of George and Rose Hoewischer. Before the outbreak of World War I, Hoewischer worked in a Dry Goods Store. He was sworn into the United States Army on December 13, 1917 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Hoewischer trained throughout the Eastern United States, but spent most of military career serving in France, where he arrived July 18, 1918. He worked as a mechanic for the 19th Co., 3rd Motor Mechanics, United States Air Service. Hoewischer retuned to Kentucky in 1919, where he worked as a window decorator for a Dry Goods Store. He continued to live in Paducah, Kentucky until his death on Died September 9, 1970.
