Girls' Latin School (Boston, Mass.)
Opened in 1878, Girls' Latin School was the first college preparatory high school for girls in the United States, and the fourth public high school for girls. In 1972, boys were admitted for the first time to Girls' Latin School; in 1975 the name was changed to Boston Latin Academy.
