Charles Parrish Blitch (1925-2007) held a lifelong interest in the history of Bulloch County and in his fmaily genealogy, and his collection reflects these interests. He graduated from Statesboro High School and from Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University) in 1948, following his army service during World War II. After earning an MS in Eductaion at Emory, he returned to Statesbor to teach first at Statesboro High School, then at Georgia Teachers College (1956-1962) He earned his doctorate in Economics from Chapel Hill and then taught until retirement (1990) at Old Dominion University. In his retirement years he bought and restored the old family home, The Blitch-Lane House, in Blitch, Ga., and collected material on history and genealogy.
