Wise, Claude, 1893-1987.
Claude Wise was born in Indianapolis in 1893. He had little formal education and went to work for the railroad at the age of eight. He married a school teacher, Ruth Winslow in 1917 and they had two sons. From 1917 to 1919 he served in the United States Army with the 334th Infantry and later with the 19th Engineers in France. After the war he returned to his job at the railroad.
