Lachowitch, Eugene, 1900- .
A machine designer and journalist, Eugene Lachowitch (1900- ) was born in Ushnia, Ukraine. He served in the Ukrainian Army (1918-1921), then studied in Danzig and, after coming to the United States, at the Technological Institute (Brooklyn, N. Y.). Lachowitch worked for vairous firms in New York and Miami, Florida. From 1936-1942 he served as associate editor of Svoboda, as editor of Visnyk (New York), and as correspondent for several Ukrainian and Ukrainian American newspapers and publications.
