McWhorter, Frances Manning Achurch.
William Cuttino Achurch (1907-1986) was born in Charleston (S.C.). He was a 1924 graduate of the High School of Charleston and a 1928 graduate of the College of Charleston. He was employed first by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and in 1942 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. He later worked with the U.S. Navy as an engineering advisor until his retirement in 1964. William C. Achurch married Frances Manning of Barnwell, S.C. in 1940. She was a graduate of Georgia State College and University. Achurch died in 1986 and she married Henry L. McWhorter in 1994.
