Hill, Claiborne M.

C.M. Hill, 1857-1950, was a Baptist minister born in California and raised in Oregon. He served pastorates in Eugene, Oregon and Oakland, California before being appointed President, 1904-37, of the Baptist seminary for the west coast known as: the Pacific Coast Baptist Theological Union, then the Pacific Coast Baptist Seminary, then the Berkeley Baptist Divinity School. The seminary trained men and women for ministerial, missionary, church and Sunday School work, and all kinds of practical Christian labor.
