Concord Temperance Society (Concord, Mass.)
Society in Concord, Mass., formed in 1833 "to discountenance the use of ardent spirits, as a drink, & the manufacture & sale of the same for that purpose, by all proper & justifiable means, & the members ... express themselves in favor of entire abstinence from the use of ardent spirits ..." First officers: Ezra Ripley, President; J.C. Prescott, Vice President; Josiah Davis, Secretary; John Stacy, Treasurer.
