Elliff, Thomas D., 1944-

Southern Baptist pastor, writer, and denominational leader. Elliff graduated from Ouachita Baptist University (B.A.) in 1966 and earned the Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1971. Elliff received honorary doctorate from Southwestern Baptist University and from Mid-Continent Baptist Bible College. He has served as pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church in Del City, Oklahoma since 1985. In 1996 Elliff was elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention at New Orleans, Louisiana and was re-elected in 1997 at Dallas, Texas.
